During daylight hours, ChikaLicious’ facade resembles an unassuming garage. However once night falls one can expect to find a line formed on the sidewalk of hungry connosieurs – including the most discerning of restaurant snobs – waiting to sample not only sushi but some of the most fabulous desserts available in gotham. Beyond the modest exterior you will find the primo location to try traditional American desserts with a French presentation in Japanese tasting portions. Une cuisine visible, un personnel studieux travaillant chaque commande avec un soin exemplaire derrière un comptoir, cela n’est pas sans rappeler les chefs japonais des sushis bars. Le concept de Chikalicious est identique, à une cuisine près, ici il est question de desserts. La carte, qui change tous les jours, est simple et raffinée, la présentation sophistiquée. On peut ainsi déguster panna cotta au sorbet à la pêche, tarte tiède au chocolat… et plein d’autres gourmandises. L’endroit fonctionne comme un restaurant avec son menu. Pour 12 dollars, offrez à votre palais, un amuse-bouche, un dessert et un assortiment de petits fours, servis en quantité tout à fait raisonnable.
