Straight from the acclaimed Ronnybrook dairy farm in upstate New York this Manhattan cafe, styled after a traditional American dairy, is located in the epicurean oasis of Chelsea Market and offers non-homogenized, hormone-free milk farm fresh in glass bottles in addition to cheese, yogurt and ice cream. Great for a meeting, a date or a country breakfast -- and a lactose intolerant's worst nightmare -- the cafe counter offers seasonal menu items ranging from a free-range roast chicken sandwich, soups, salads, baked macaroni and cheese and Oreo cookies and milk. Twelve delightful ice cream flavors provide the perfect ingredients for savory milkshakes, most notably apple pie a la mode, blueberry-pomegranate and chocolate covered orange peel. And the cafe's location is close enough to the recreation path along the West Side Highway so you can indulge guilt-free and take a walk along the Hudson River to burn off those decadent, unwanted (but well worth it) calories.
