Veniero’s has been around for a while, so the customers must continue to be satisfied: opening in 1894 the family-owned bakery has notoriously made the best and most affordable Italian cookies and pastries and a delectable New York cheesecake. (Also available in lowfat!) If you're taking out, you must first take a number and be prepared to wait while pastry-lovers before you carefully make their selections to fill Veniero's charming white paper boxes, fixed with string applied by an old-fashioned machine. If you're Italian, the cookies will hopefully remind you of afternoons at grandmothers house.
